Hotel in Nikko
Situated in Nikko, 1 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Shinkyo Inn features accommodation with a terrace, free private parking and a bar. A very nice B&B near the main cultural heritage sights of Nikko. We could even see the Shinkyo Bridge from our room! Mark and his wife are very nice, helpful, and personable. Since we got to Nikko late in the day, they made us a delicious dinner, taking note of our dietary concerns. And breakfast the next day was also excellent. While we found that the lighting in our room could have been somewhat stronger to allow us to read in bed, the bathroom was enormous and included both a shower and a most tempting tub. I could think of no better place to stay! It is truly idyllic.

Set in Nikko, within 1.6 km of Nikko Toshogu Shrine and 3.1 km of Tobu Nikko Station, Fufu Nikko offers accommodation with a restaurant and free WiFi as well as free private parking for guests who... Incredible experience from start to finish. I only stayed one night, but I felt immediately at home and could not have been happier. The private, in-room onsen was the highlight of the room without question. Such a wonderful way to unwind and I spent hours in there. They keep the onsen very hot, hotter than most I've been to, but it's easy to add cold water to cool it down and if you go too far, a call to the front desk will have hot water piping back in. I enjoyed soaking while watching the snow fall through the open window - and was very comfortable! The room was extremely spacious with sliding partitions for each area, so if traveling with a partner or family, it would be easy to create privacy when needed. In-room amenities were great. Nice lotions, soaps, etc. Lighting in the room was very nice - I believe about 6 different settings you can choose from to create the mood you're looking for. The meals were absolutely top notch and unforgettable, both the dinner and breakfast. I can't say enough good things but the food surpassed all my expectations. Simply lovely. Checking in and out was very smooth and simple. It was easy to catch a taxi from directly outside Tobu Nikko station and when it was time to leave, the staff called a taxi for me.

Hotel in Nikko
Nikko Station Hotel Ⅱ is located a 3-minute walk from Tobu Nikko Station. Nikko Tosho-gu is a 10-minute drive away. Free WiFi is available in all rooms. I liked the room's design, corridors, and lobby ( I admit that is mainly why I booked this place over all other options). We were lucky to get a space on one of the top floors, and an exceptional view of the city and mountains was there, too. A big supermarket is located close by, approximately the same distance (but in a different direction) as the station. The staff at the reception allowed other people to watch a sports match on the TV in the lobby, where vast and comfortable couches are located. That was nice of them. In the hall was also a free coffee and tea stand, which is always nice to have, even if you have a kettle in the room. Outside the building was a locker room, which saved trouble finding a free locker at the station.

This guest house is a hidden gem! The room was in a beautiful traditional Japanese style with Tatami floor and futon beds and our host was just the kindest and nicest person! :) it’s located right next to the canal there is a bento shop on the first floor. A supermarket, the Tochigi station and a boat ride on the canal are all in walking distance.
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere by the lake, but we were warned and there was no problem to get there. We also enjoyed our walk along the lake. The food was amazing, the room (Japanese style) was comfortable, with a nice view of the lake. And that experience of enjoying a hot water outside when the temperature is around zero degrees is priceless.
Location and flair. We had a twin room in the newly renovated annex. We had the set dinner in the main restaurant. The hotel is beautiful, with colorful wood carvings, little Japanese gardens, surprising courtyards. Fantastic cooking. Try the Japanese breakfast.
Stunning scenery and spacious room.
staff friendly and polite, I made the hotel reservation on the booking website, after completing the reservation I realized that the room was for smokers, I asked for a room change, they promptly moved me to a non-smoking room, The meal had a huge variety of food, the breakfast was also fantastic, I definitely want to stay there again
The hotel is being renovated room by room and ours was very clean and modern. It was a pleasant experience with great service from staff. They had rental games (uno, game of life etc) which was great to have. Onsen in the 1st floor was clean and we'll maintained.
I like how you can have easily access to all of the hotels amenities, I also enjoy the view and the onsen
The location is great, near the bus stop and some restaurants and near the main temples. The hotel is beautiful, reception was great and the room was very big. Clean and with all necessities. The onsen was awesome!! Staff was very helpful and nice.
There are many activities to do like Karaoke, Table Tennis, Game Center, Body Massage and Foot massages etc. Room is spacious with nice veranda. There are a number of onsen to choose from. Outdoor onsen is great. Provision to reserve a private onsen is a good point. Good selection of food for the buffet dinner and buffet breakfast.
The Japanese style breakfast/dinner is full and taste good! Also, there is some screens setup among different guests in the dinning room, so we have privacy when having breakfast and dinner.
Staff was amazing. They really helped accomodate us even though we couldn't speak Japanese. They helped send our luggage And helped with bus reservation to the station. The room was very nice with a mountain and river view. We took the traditional Japanese room with futons, so we aren't expecting any extremely comfortable western beds. But it was still comfortable (however, this is more on the firm side). The bath in the room was great. I believe the water comes from the springs, but if it isn't, it was still very nice. The washroom had a mountain view as well. They gave guests an option to wear a kimono/yukata as part of the hotel experience, which is a nice touch. There is a good amount of food selection for the dinner and breakfast buffet, which is great for most people. One of us had shellfish allergies, which is why we chose this Ryokan. However, for those with severe allergies, you may need to discuss with staff as the food could cross-contaminate. There are a lot of amenities that we didn't get to try so we can't speak on it. The gift shop was nice and the hotel sells some of their baked goods there, which were great if you like red bean sweets. All in all, it was a great stay and would recommend to stay for more than one night to get a chance to use all the amenities.
I was here for my 60th birthday. I asked for a room that was quiet and with a view. Both of those were absolutely accommodated for on the 12th floor, no less. I could see the beautiful mountainside while listening to the river below. What an incredible view and experience. From the moment I arrived, the wonderful lady at the front desk made sure my stay was beyond expectations. She spoke great English and was helpful in every way imagined. She truly went out of her way to make me feel special. She and all of the staff were like family. I will never forget them and the wonderful time I had. They are truly in my heart. The hotel truly is a ray of sunshine. That is because of its staff and absolutely picturesque location. The food is also quite delicious. I truly found peace and solitude. Thank you Kona
Our stay at Itamuro Onsen was truly exceptional. Words can hardly capture how special this place is. Surrounded by exquisite nature, beautifully curated furniture and ceramics, a sophisticated art library, and gardens designed by renowned artist Kishio Suga, it was a memorable experience. The onsens were perfect for the relaxation you need after spending some days in a busy city like Tokyo. A special thanks to Koki, who kindly showed us around Suga's museum and shared insights about the special project that is Itamuro. We're already looking forward to returning soon!
Hotel & facilities were superb from the breakfast & dinner buffets through to the indoor / outdoor rooftop spa. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Free drinks, including alcohol, soft drinks, coffee, ice creams & snacks was also a very nice touch.
I love the close to old ryokan ambiance and the onsen is the best part.
Food is delicious😋, especially oyster fry .. childrens friendly environment and wide variety of foods selection.
