Situated in the centre of Kyoto, 300 metres from TKP Garden City Kyoto, ALA HOTEL KYOTO features air-conditioned rooms and free WiFi. This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk. I loved the room. It was spacious and very clean (big enough to accomodate two big open suitcases). The lobby staff all spoke English. The baths were also spacious and clean. Every floor has a vending machine which is also awesome. When it was time to leave the staff took care of measuring our luggage and filling out the form to send our luggage to our next hotel. When I lost my credit card and it was found by the police, the staff called my room and let me know then they printed out a map and gave me clear instructions on where to go to get it back. All in all, my stay here was very plesant and me and my spouse intend to stay with them again in the future.

The hotel is very well located, close to Shijo subway station where you can reach Kyoto main station and all places to visit. It's also in front of main shopping galleries and Nishiki market. Only 9 min walk to Pontocho area and the begining of Gion area. The hotel as well as the room are very clean. Beds are comfortable. You can have access to a selfservice laundry (price is fair) which is convenient. The staff is very nice, helpful and professional. We stayed 3 nights plus 2 nights after a 2 nights trip to Nara. They kept our luggages while we were in Nara. I fully recommend.

The staff are absolutely superb. assisted us in everyway possible, from luggage forwarding, to locating a misplaced passport. Top notch. Overall, the hotel is great! Yes, maybe the location is not exactly in the center but distance to most famous places is around 2km, which is not that far. Rooms were very clean, they offer 2 types of breakfast: japanese (it'll be a set, you can't choose what to eat) and american (choose whatever) and both were really good. Staff provided everything from umbrellas to iron board for clothes.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the main photo , it looks like a shed and I was nervous, but this hotel really is lovely! The photo is of the covered entrance with a function room, the main hotel is behind that facing the tranquil ocean! Our room was gorgeous and waking up to the sound of the gentle waves was glorious. The beds were very comfortable and the room was incredibly spacious. The hot spring was lovely too! Wished we’d stayed longer.

It was perfectly located to to-ji temple. So comfortable, great beds , bath was amazing and the staff and breakfast was fantastic.

The staff were very kind and efficient. I had to send some things to a friend in Japan and they helped me send it by local transportation company. It was very convenient. The location is amazing as it is three minutes from the station. The room was small but well appointed. It had everything that you will need for your stay. I unpacked a bit and put my suitcase under the bed and there was plenty of room. It was very quiet as the hallways have carpeting. The housekeepers were very kind and gave us plenty of new towels if we needed them.
