Set on a cliff top in Porto Ercole, on the Monte Argentario Peninsula, the luxurious Il Pellicano offers a free private rocky beach, a swimming pool and a Michelin-starred restaurant. Loved every single detail about the property. The reason I gave 4/5 for location is because the hotel is located in a very remote and secluded area, which is the whole idea about relaxation. If you want to have any activity outside the hotel there is no taxi, Uber, bus, shuttle, public transportation,…. You MUST have a car or you need to pay a very high fee to have a private transfer by the hotel.

Situated in Porto Santo Stefano, 2.5 km from Monte Argentario, Bike&Boat Argentario Hotel provides accommodation with a terrace. The staff was really nice and the rooms were nice and clean, the rooftop terrace had an amazing view of the ocean. The breakfast was also really good, a lot of different choices. You can rent electric bikes directly at the hotel (new with really good batteries) and it’s an really amazing way to explore the place. Would definitely reccomend!

My family and I stayed in a two-room studio spread across two floors for several days. + The lower floor door opens directly to the yard, where you’ll find sun loungers on the lawn and a refreshing swimming pool - a well-thought-out placement indeed! + The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was exceptionally pleasant and friendly. + Breakfast followed the typical Italian style: a spread of bread, cheese, ham, muesli, pastries, cakes, juice, and excellent coffee.

Very nice breakfast with seating option in courtyard with plenty of room. Very convenient for evening stroll, restaurants and shops. About 2 hr or less drive from Fiumicino made it an easy place to reach first day.

The Gianella beach has about 40m of very shallow water, lots of different kinds of shells, great for small kids, but also for swimming further out. We had a ground level apartment with a backyard with trees - great for kids playing, keeping all the beach toys etc, two drying racks. Many chairs both inside and outside.

We rented e-bikes from the hotel to tour Argentario on check-out day and could stop to swim along the way - once back we were offered towel and access to a shower - priceless!

The location is good to go visit the beaches, small cities like Orbetello, Monte Argentario and other very nice villages in the Maremma and Montemerano region.
