Lviv has so much cultural heritage that words hardly do it justice. It was under Polish, Habsburg and Soviet rule before rejoining Ukraine, and all have left dramatic marks. No fewer than 5 cathedrals grace cobbled streets with attractive parks and elegant buildings worthy of Vienna.
Potocki Palace is a grand former nobleman’s home and the Palace of Siemienski-Lewickis is equally impressive. Kornyakt Palace is a Renaissance jewel that became a royal residence, and the Ensemble of Ruska Street is an eclectic collection of buildings contributing to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic centre.
Lviv University is Ukraine’s oldest and was part of an intellectual circle attracting immigrants which earned the city the nickname of ‘Little Paris’. Shevchenka Avenue is named after Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko and a statue of him sits on a square housing the celebrated Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet and Lviv National Museum.
The town hall on Market Square is surrounded by colourful buildings housing shops and cafes, and the castle ruins overlook all of this from High Castle Park.
This is just a snapshot of what the city offers and Booking.com’s great accommodation range helps you discover this and more. The luxury city centre hotels, cheap hostels and apartments near Arena Lviv Euro 2012 football stadium are all easily accessible from the airport.

It was our first trip to Ukraine and we will definitely come back. Lviv is full of interesting buildings and good eateries. The people are friendly and helpful and the streets are clean (no rubbish). We were thinking how much like Krakow this pretty town could become with EU subsidies! Lots of impressive churches - and great history. If you want to visits Ukraine (also during the war) this is a very good place to go.

Lviv is an amazing and vibrant city!
Lviv is an amazing and vibrant city! Even though there is a war going on, it never felt that one was going on. The people are always smiling and going about their business which contributes to the feeling there is no war going on.
I will recommend the coffee shop Glory Cafe. The place is just amazing! Beautiful architecture and amazing sweets and coffee to eat and drink.
The transportation system in Lviv is extensive. I don't think it is necessary to rent a vehicle at all. All the touristic/historical sites are either within walking distance or a short bus/torley ride.

Lviv is simply breathtaking!
Lviv is simply breathtaking! It's because the mixage of beautiful Hapsburg style architecture, the wide city centre, the old armory, castle hill, cemetery of astonishing beauty combined with so many charming places serving really good food and drinks is so well balanced it's almost miraculous.
It is unbelievable to find so much optimism and strength in this city in a country in war. This fact, which can't be considered unnoticeable, is something that both raised my respect for the city inhabitants as well as strengthened my desire to return soon in spring.
Arnold would say: "I'll be back" and so do I!!

Lviv is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
Lviv is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The restaurants and shopping remind you of Paris. It is completely safe and it should be on a must see list. Catch a performance at the opera house if you can; it is a magnificent building.

So Lviv is quite a nice city in Ukraine.
So Lviv is quite a nice city in Ukraine. It has a bit of a Central European feel - like you are in Austria or Poland. Not surprising as it has been part of both countries in the past.
It has a well-developed coffee culture and a number of very nice Cafes. I tried "MOMENT Lviv" and "SLOW Coffee" for the first time. Other favorite cafe/restaurant picks are Mon Chef (at the Hotel Astoria), Steak House, Cinema Jazz, Veronika, Faust, and the Leo Cafe at the Leopolis Hotel.
No visit to Lviv is complete without a trip to Rynok Square. I recommend Coffee Mine and Lviv Handmade Chocolates for coffee and chocolate respectively, both for purchase and as cafes.
My girlfriend and I both like Thai Massage, and we tried Lilawadee Thai Massage at Svobody Ave, 22 in the Center. The massage was good, pricing was transparent (you got what you paid for) and there was one person on site with good English, although my partner is fluent in English, Russian, Ukrainian and Slovak so she translated for me. The one thing would have liked was to be in the same room for our couples massage, which wasn't possible here, but no other issues.
Outside of town - maybe at 45 minute to 60 minute drive, is the EDEM resort. It has a pool, massage services, baths of varying temperatures, an art gallery and a very good restaurant. They also have a hotel but this is jsut a day trip for me when I go. It is VERY relaxing, but there are also activities there also, such as golf, etc. It's expensive, but also very luxurious.
Literally everything. Love the interior, location, services. Especially want to highlight staff work and professionalism. Team working as in 5 star hotel - helpful, smiling, fast reacting, customer-focused. Absolutely in love how employees trying to make stay exceptional. Extra compliment for breakfast because have more interesting choices than usual hotels with breakfast included. Stayed in this hotel several times and will keep staying in the future.
Hotel is located directly in the center of Lviv, about 3 Minutes to walk to the opera.
Breakfast is included, thats awesome!
The staff is outstandingly welcoming and kind, they are all pretty young which is great for young travellers.
They speak a fairly good english which is pretty rare in Eastern Europe!
The room is spacious enough and so is the bathroom.
Bed is really comfortable and I was glad that there were enough power sockets.
I’ve been traveling to Ukraine for 15 years and I am used to a European hotel experience. This is quite simply the best hotel I have stayed at in Ukraine. The rooms are large, comfortable and spotlessly clean.
The service was simply superb and that was completely down to Lesya on reception who couldn’t do enough for us.
Every time I visit Lviv I will stay here.
P.S. and like everyone says the breakfast is 4 courses 😀 and very tasty
Staff are the best (thank you so much for being always ready to help!), location is very good, rooms and shared facilities were super clean. Good value for money. And what I also liked very much that this hotel is strictly following COVID regulations and is not allowing people without certificate or negative test (people are clearly told about that in advance) — thank you for that, it’s unfortunately not very common stance in Ukraine
Hotel seems to have had some renovation and the room didn't look weary, while having kind of cheap furniture though. Location is pretty good: not far away from the center but not having huge crowds of tourists around at the same time. Breakfast appeared to be good: it is worth having it in the hotel. Overall rather positive impression. I believe reasonable price range for this hotel is 40-50 euros per night.
I have stayed in this hotel for almost 5 days, one of the best places I have stayed in, although I have many offers 5 stars, but I enjoyed with a luxurious and educated staff and distinguished manners, especially the reception Sergio was amazing, friendly, helpful, creative service and smile. Professionalism, thank you very much. They made me beautiful days there. I am Mishaal from Saudi Arabia
Perfect hotel with the perfect staff. My room had all what is needed for a short stay; staff was very helpful and attentive. breakfast is really good. Wi-Fi is reliable and quick. location is 15-20 minutes on foot from the railway station and 35 minutes to the heart of Lviv (taxi would bring You to the center in 10-15 minutes depending on traffic).
I’ve been coming to Ukraine helping with the war effort for a year and Central Hotel is always my base camp. It’s not a “hotel room”. It’s a studio apartment with a huge living space, kitchen with dishes and a fridge, and a full bathroom. The staff are so nice. It’s like a family environment.
This is the best hotel in Lviv. I am staying here for the second time, because everything suits me. The service is excellent, they help me with all my questions and wishes. Food in the restaurant deserves the highest rating. A green fenced area where you feel safe. Wonderful pool.
Olga at Front Desk Reception was very professional, helpful and spoke very good in English, which was a bit surprising for me to see in Western Ukraine. The hotel, really is located in the center of Lviv. A lot of foreigners. Good breakfast. Very good parking. Good price/quality.
It was just the perfect place to stay, the hotel is central to the must see places in Lviv and you can hear music playing at night from city center, not to loud, just perfect. Staff was very helpful and spoke great english.
Second stay here booked for my relatives travelling from Germany to Ukraine. Like last time- one year ago they are very pleased with staff und nice rooms. Great prices and possibilities for late check-out.
Thank you!
I was here at a very peculiar time. The War had started and the tenant was about to close the hostel. He still tried to make the hostel a good place for the people who slept here.
Long live him, and long live Ukraine.
We had an early flight so chose a hotel near to the airport.
Important things we looked for were free wifi and needed to speak to family and free parking as charging for parking suddenly makes a cheap room expensive.
a very nice hotel located in the old town of Lviv.
Staff are friendly, rooms are small-ish but comfortable and well appointed.
I wish i had a longer time, not just a layover in Lviv.
Highly recommend.
Big shopping center was near. Hotel rooms were nice and clean. Pricewise it was really good. Hotel organized taxi for us to get to airport - it was aprox. 8 min drive.
