You pay for the location and the palace-hotel itself, which is wonderful, but a lot more renovations and changing must be done with the rooms and bathrooms to really match the price. Otherwise location is the best in Alba Iulia! The feeling you have when staying at this hotel is wonderful and unlike other.

Staff were most gracious and hospitable. They exuded a certain 'quality'. The room was comfortable, all was normal. Look at the price, what more to expect?

It's a family owned business, so the place is cosy, large, with plenty of amenities (outdoor area with a small swimming pool, kitchenette/dining, playground and parking). Plenty of parking spaces. Our room was large, clean, and well lit. Owners are friendly and talkative. Within walking distance to the citadel (aprox. 10 minutes, or 5 minutes by car). We enjoyed a nice glass of wine in the evening (courtesy of the owners), in a cozy upstairs veranda, enjoying the peace and quiet.

Alba Iulia's walled city was a surprising cluster of food stands and tourist trinket kiosks and rides for children. It was loud and busy. One museum was closed, and the Roman museum had busts of Roman rulers and pillars and other stone objects. Children will love it, but history-seekers might not.

Majestic city built inside a 16th century medieval fortress, keeping all the historical elements it is famous for. Many accomodations to choose from. Some great restaurants and diners. Open air swimming pools are available around the city. Nearby you can also find a forest and a great hilly area which provide a great panoramic view of the city.

Alba Iulia is a touristic town, full of history (the biggest fortress in Romania), with great connections by road ( A10, A1 ) , train or plane ( Sibiu Airport 50 minutes away and Cluj Napoca 1 h. 15 minutes ). There are very good restaurants with reasonable prices - Vila Preciosa or Pub13, for example. Plenty of cultural events are going on, every month. Don't miss the changing of guards on Saturdays and Sundays from 12.00. Also, Fridays, at 19.00 there is a Daco - Romans Fighting Show. Don't miss the History Museum and Sala Uniri ( where the unification act was signed on 1st of December 1918 ). There is a new and nice museum for icons - Museikon.ro. The cathedrals - catholic "Sf Mihail" - the oldest and longest in Romania, and orthodox - The Coronation Cathedral, where King Mihai 1 was crowned in 1922. Have fun!

Pleasant experience overall, not only inside the fortress, but also walking on the cobbled pathway between the two external walls of the bastion, where nowadays there are benches, ornamental trees and even a small pond with exotic fish. There are a few cafes and food vans inside the citadel, so the visitors could recharge themselves while walking between statues, churches and museums.

This is a city in Romania which is really prepared for tourism, above all the expectations that we had. There are QR codes on the streets and on the main attractions, English speaking in every museum and restaurant that we entered.

I visited the city for a music festival held at RYMA spaces, inside the fortress.
The fortress is well preserved and has a lot of wonderful sights and attractions. It has been restored and looks great.
However, the city itself is not that cool - it does not have too much to offer, except for the fortress and historical center, of course. It is unkempt and, with the exception of the modern center, rather poorly maintained. The roads are terrible - potholes, roadworks, poor traffic management, etc..
If you are not attending a festival/other event, spending more than one night here is too much.
Apartment is located near the city center, on the 1st floor. Parking lot for free is available just behind the building. Very convenient considering we were by car.
The host, Marius, was very kind. He waited us, even if we arrived late evening. Later on, he advised us what is the best attraction outside the city and explained in detail how to visit .
Apartment was perfect clean and very comfortable for our group of 3.
A number of shops and an open market are very close to the Raema Cetate.
The first ever hotel that is better in real life than the pictures. Lovely central location, extremely well maintained hotel, with wine cellar and awesome restaurant. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly! Walkable distance to the city center and Alba Carolina Citadel Fortress. Very worm in the hotel and the rooms, clean. Breakfast is buffet and very delicious.
Once again, many thanks to all the staff there!!!
The location is very good and there is plenty of parking which normally is payable, but on this ocasssion due to roadworks it was free. Room was nice & warm, with a coffee machine, fridge and an AC. The owner did provide us with a text message with all the relevant details for someone who is new to the town of Alba Iulia. Thank you
We were late with the check-in but the owner eas super helpfull to let us in the apartment. Although the flat was situated in an old house, it gave us a pleasant surprise with its cleanness, well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The view from the windows upon the hills of Alba Iulia was an awesome morning surprise.
The atmosphere of the whole hotel. You could imagine it has a medieval background.
Breakfast was very good.
Receptionists were quite helpful and even opened terrace for us.
We had easy access to gardens which was very good. It was a quite place with unique atmosphere. We definitely recommend this hotel.
The place is quiet / discreet and nearby city center. After a nice trip over the day, in this place you will find out all energies for another day. This place is a very good choice for visit Alba Iulia. The host was very kind and helpful. We want to come back here, for sure.
It's a great choice it you're visiting the citadel. We've been stopping by at this hotel for some time now. It is nice to see that it remains a great hotel as time goes by: good breakfast, professional staff, clean rooms.
Very clean, had bottled water coffee and tea available, comfy bed. Free parking on the premises with special reserved places, extremely close to the old city of Alba Iulia, very responsive host. Nothing was bad !
The apartment is located right in the city center and can be easily reached with bus leaving from train/bus station. Good for a one day stay. There is a futon available to sleep on. Alba Iulia is a pretty city.
Very good choice for one night stay to visit Alba Iulia. Family run business. Near the train station and the old citadel. Friendly staff who offered luggage storage. Easy communication!
The location of the hotel is excellent for those who wish to take a short walk towards the citycenter / Alba Iulia Fortress. The room was big & very comfortable.
Everything was perfect! The host was very kind and helpful. Everything is like in pictures. When we come back to Alba Iulia we will stay here for sure! 😊
