I expected a beach area with a south pacific vibe. Instead it was a theme park. We couldnt use the beach that the hotel overlooked because it was closed and had to walk 2 beaches over. Very disappointed.

Chatan is an ideal location for people visiting family members in the military. It's very close to most of the bases, and has a wide selection of hotels. There is public transportation, but It's very walkable (in most areas). We felt very safe walking around. The America Village there has lots of shops, restaurants and bars. There are also many shops and restaurants within walking distance for those who are not traveling with a car. The hotel itself is simple but comfortable, like most Mr. Kinjos on the island however this one is definitely newer than other locations in the area. The staff is helpful when checking in and can speak some English and also have an iPad with translation apps if needed.
