Housed in a historical building, this hotel is ideally located in the heart of Mont Saint-Michel. The classic-style rooms overlook the bay, the abbey or the medieval city.

Breakfast was outstanding. The hotel itself is abysmal. There is construction on one floor which is closed off to guests and there is not paper covering the doors so you can see it. The rugs on the stairs were a mess - debris, dust, paint chips - you get the idea. The room was pathetic. We do not look for luxe places but this very dark - as in ill-lit - room looked like it did after World War II. It’s disrespectful to the heritage and ambiance of Mont Saint Michel itself. The French government needs to take a look at the Poulard monopoly on MSM. The restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel was a complete disappointment - overpriced, terrible service, food mediocre at best - my husband’s scallops were served tepid when they should have been right out of the oven. The woman who was responsible for the breakfast was wonderful and the check-in, although distant from the hotel due to its construction - was courteous and accommodating. Would hate to have to get out of the hotel in a fire - not well marked. Disaster waiting to happen.

The position is great, last building before the bridge connecting mount saint michel to the mainland.
There is a view of the mount from the restaurant, but not from all rooms.

Clean, warm, well furnished. Not a big walk from the entrance.

The location is quite good, you can easily reach the island by foot. The breakfast was tasty with good variety, but you have to pay separately for it. The room was good but small.
This is an iconic location to visit. But like many tourist experiences, it is drifting a little into theme park territory. The abbey is many years past being used in a religious context (in part because it was converted into a prison by Napoleon after the revolution). So the cathedral has lost some of its soul. But the history is rich, and the location is amazing. The views are wonderful, and after the tourists have left for the day, the island is well worth exploring.

The Abbey tour itself was nice, but the mob we had to struggle thru to get there was a nightmare. And when we were done with the tour? Wall to Wall humanity. As if they dropped Euro Disney into the middle of the medieval walkways. We were here the first week of May, before the U.S. tourists even started arriving. I cannot imagine how awful this would have been with even more people. This is a magnificent place, well worth seeing ... FROM A DISTANCE. The walkways to the Mont were utterly jammed with people, and after a 40 minute wait the shuttles were stuffed like sardines. STAY AWAY! (Or maybe go in February or something). Take a photo from a distance and KEEP ON DRIVING.

The shuttles from the hotel complex are free and run every 10mns or so. It's also a lovely 2km walk from the hotel if you want to avoid the packed shuttle.
Don't bother spending a fortune on the hotels as they're all in the same place and are all about the same really.
The restaurant Le Pré Salé is the best and is a must if you're into good food. Book early though!
I recommend going in the evening to the mont st michel after 3pm when crowds start to leave. We went around 12pm and it was very busy despite it being a Monday mid season.
The self guided audio tour is great and well worth it.
And food is outrageously expensive in the Mont village and really not so good. Best bring a picnic and save your money for a nice restaurant in the evening.
All this said, a fabulous day out!

Mont St Michel is wonderful to visit.
Mont St Michel is wonderful to visit. The accommodation however was very poor and in an annex which was hard to find. The room was small and in very bad condition. Light switch hanging off the wall, tv and bedside lights did not work and space very limited. We had to persuade the restaurant staff that we had prepaid for dinner! Would certainly pick another hotel if we returned, which we won’t.

we knew there would be crowds - so we wanted to see it at night. arriving at 10:30pm, we found our room (finally) and took off to explore with a bottle of wine, a baguette, some cheese and dried meats - and had a glorious experience with not another soul about . . . wandered til 2:30 am and got spectacular photographs and had a wonderful time. got up at 8:30, had cafe & crepes, and left the isle at about 10:30 just as the masses began to arrive. trust me - do it like this . . .

Beautiful place to visit steeped in history but extremely crowded all day long. Only quiet and empty at night but everything is shut then very early and difficult to find a place to eat. The car park is extremely expensive and dreadfully overpriced. I paid €34 for overnight stay in a disabled Car park for which I had a blue Badge. Thought this was exorbitant and a terrible rip-off! However, there is no choice because shuttle bus is so far away from the Mount.

To enjoy Mount Saint Michelle without the crowds you need to stay on the island. There are not a ton of choices for hotels and from what I could see they were all very expensive. The room was small and dark with a very old carpet on the floor and the bathroom had an odd smell to it. If you go in the off season like we did in March the value of staying after hours seems to be reduced as it is not super crowded during the day. Also in the off season there are not many places to eat dinner (2 that we could find).
Amazing atmosphere and experience!! Our rooms were top floor which was many stairs but so fun and original. We were glad to have brought only backpacks with only essential items. Suitcases would not have been a huge challenge. Absolutely the best idea to stay on the island and experience the Abbey and streets at night without the crowds. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed a late dinner at restaurant Auberge St Pierre, just down the street.
It was so cool to stay on the Mont! It emptied out and we felt alone on the island! Our room was right by the cemetery. The room was comfortable but not fancy and dated. The toilet was under an overhang so no standing. The food was good at the hotel they partner with. The lobby is on the second floor of the building where that hotel is. Pierre something? I forgot. Fire was roaring! Great food and we heard all the food on the island was eh. We ate there 3 times. Good!
Really nice staff, they helped with everything. Early check-in was possible, so one does not have to carry the luggage around Mont-Saint-Michel.
Beds were comfortable and the hotel/night very quiet. Furniture and bathroom looked quite new.
There is a partnership with a restaurant that offers typical food from Normandy and a good breakfast.
Private parking lot during the stay, but I did not use it as I was walking.
Overall a very pleasant stay.
Hotel is in a great location on the island of Mont Saint Michel. There is direct access to the battlements from the hotel. Room was small but comfortable. It's in an old building so we didn't expect a huge room anyway. Restaurant on the ground floor was nice for meals. Staff were friendly. I'm glad to have had the experience of staying on the island.
Very spacious room, proper facilities including hair dryer and kettle, nice location near Mont Saint Michel as you can walk for 25-30 mins or take a free shuttle bus only 2 stops to there. Also, the new restaurant in the hotel has an interesting policy: plant-based ingredients, so you can enjoy eating various kinds of healthy food.
It was a great experience to stay on the island overnight. During the day it is extremely crowded and honestly not that pleasant. At night, it empties out and we took the opportunity for a very early morning stroll. The hotel has a restaurant as well, which is open in the evening. Overall a great experience.
Lovely hotel in a great location, near to Mont St Michel, literally just hop on a free shuttle!Fabulous assortment at breakfast, cold meats, cheeses, cereals, pastries, egg boiler, toast machine, yoghurts, fruits, pancake machine, fruit juices and coffee/ tea machine!

The location was right in front of the shuttle stop to Mont Saint Michelle. The price is certainly convenient given the average of the other hotels nearby. The breakfast was quite complete. The bathroom was clean and functional. Friendly staff.
The location was perfect for us and fits our needs. room was comfy enough for us. and the shower room was spacious compared to some in other hotels in France. will definitely come back in the future.
Bed was very comfortable, room was clean and modern. Conveniently located near restaurants, free shuttle yo Mont Saint Michel. Parking was available at the location for a reasonable fee.
Great location! It was a real treat to stay on the Island and our room had large windows with a great view. Breakfast was generous. Nice staff. Nice sized bathroom.
