Unlike Cairo, Aswan is much slower paced and people are much nicer. The city has several historical sites, temples, and islands. The views and food are amazing. I’m skipping Cairo on my next trip to Egypt and coming straight to Aswan and Luxor.

Tombs of the Nobles were really neat if you can make it over to the other bank. Watch out for the camel guys there though. We got roped into $50 camel rides.
Aswan was probably our least favorite stop in Egypt. Harassment by salespeople was higher here than at the Great Pyramids, and much higher than Luxor! We couldn't walk anywhere at anytime of the day without a salesperson walking with us for several blocks. And as soon as they were done, someone else would take over. Its too bad, I think the corniche could be a really pretty walk!

Aswan is pleasant pretty city on upper Nile within easy day excursion to Abu Simbel. Don't ride camel at Giza, ride one at Aswan out into the desert. Ride felucca boat around Elephantine Island. Eat at King Jamaica restaurant. Stop to see unfinished obelisk

Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
I didn’t realize that the hotel was undergoing a little construction. It looked like they were upgrading their ramp. This meant we had to carry our bags up the stairs to the lobby.
The property is beautiful and has a terrific view of the town and we could see the Nile from our room. The restaurant was very good- we had dinner there.
BTW the construction noise never bothered us. We couldn’t hear it at all.

If you are doing the Initiatic path, Elephantine Island is so perfect. We stayed at Mango Tree (feel like exotic move stars) and Nubian Dreams (also a restaurant but we scored their top floor room and that is super fun) We also stayed at Nubian Palace, oh my gosh. Take a little private ferry and go to that place. Its so memorable. Philae temple was set up from our host at Nubian Palace (which we usually never do but she is a badass and handles it so you don't have to negotiate to and from the ferry marina) Stay on the west bank. Never the east. Its so loud and full of hustle. The west bank is like real Egypt. Lovely. Easy to start the temple path to Abu Simbel by hopping on a local large bus. Fun, cheap, easy. (Its a little more coming back but its all very cheap so be nice and accept the system) From here you can take a train, bus or private taxi to Kom Ombo and Edfu as you make your way to Luxor. (ALSO STAY ON THE WEST BANK in luxor) What a lovely quiet and profoundly spiritual adventure.
This hotel is really good, in particular when compared to other hotels in Aswan/Egypt. The location is on an island in the Nile, so you will need to get there with the boat, which was actually very easy. Rooms are pretty big and really clean, with solid view on the Nile, depending on your position. I did not understand which rooms are the ones with the nice balcony and the Nile view, but most of them aren't. There is a heated swimming pool outdoor, so you can swim even if the temperature is not that high.
We loved being immersed in the community, stepping out the door to local markets and restaurants was so much fun. We are a family of 4 and had the second floor to ourselves which was clean, spacious and comfortable. Mustafa was amazing, always making sure we were comfortable and organised for all our sightseeing at great prices. I don’t think our stay in Aswan would have been the same staying anywhere else. A real gem for our Egypt experience.
Such amazing staff. I was rebooked in a nearby hotel (just on the next building) due to overbooking because of a technical glitch, but the staff, esp Mr. Ahmed, made sure we have no further inconveniences and provided exceptional service.
Highly recommend them for a nice and quiet stay in the Nubian village area by the Nile river, away from the busy hustle of Aswan.
It was a super nice stay. The location was very beautiful. The rooms were huge. I loved the swimming pool. Horres the manager was so kind and helped us with everything from booking taxis to ordering food to booking us into the light and sound show at the temple. Thanks so much for everything! It was the best place we stayed in Egypt.
Overall had a great visit here! The rooms were very comfortable and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! They made us feel welcome and arranged for a late checkout so we could leave our things in the room until our train in the evening. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Aswan!
Good and unique Nubian style room.
near some branch of Nile river.
spacious, private and quiet villa for 3 people.
electronic mosquito killer which is rare in Egyptian hotels.
good air-conditioner.
comparatively good price with other choices in Aswan. Guess this is because the avg price for Aswan hotels is high.
We liked this accommodation very much. It was a little far from the town but with community ferry it was fast to get to the center. The ferry only costs 10 egyptian pounds for person (0.20 €) and it's very fast. They make us breakfast boxes when we went to Abu Simbel. The view from the hotel was wonderful.
Good location.
Even the hotel it’s self is not 5star hotel, they have staff can be considered as 5 star hotel staff.
Special thanks for Ms. Sonata who helped out my broken travel item. She has good idea to fix most of the trouble that you would have.
And Mr.Khaled, who help my wifi problem all the time.
The location is great if you are looking for a calm place. I would recommend to stay one or two nights in this hotel, and maybe one night in the city center. It’s not really far away from Aswan, but the prices are high - be careful with the taxi/boats drivers. The breakfast is great and full of options.
Quality of small hotels in Egypt are so far away from european standards, so it was a really nice surprise to find this gem in Aswan region. Clean, good service, peculiar decoration and excellent view to river..A must to have half board ( delicious lunch) and to taste the nunbian coffee..thanks
The hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. They provide us many advices and travel information. The room is clean and comfortable. Also, there is a lovely dog in the hotel and she’s super cute. We highly recommend who would like to have a peaceful journey in Aswan come to this hotel.
The hotel is one of my favorite places on earth.. luxury, historic, beautiful restaurants, (more on that in a minute) ,gorgeous rooms heavenly pool. And the VIEW! Spectacular.. this was our 2nd time at the old cataract. And it is the most beautiful and best hotel in egypt.
Fantastic guesthouse, easily accessible from the west bank by a fixed price ferry( no haggling required). There is a great restaurant with delicious tagine and beer at the landing. It was the best hotel we stayed at in Egypt and could have stayed for a week.
One of the best places we stayed at in Egypt within the price range. Large room, large and clean bathroom. Lovely host Habib, who arranged everything we needed. Fantastic food at the sister hotel down the road.
Hotel was very convenient to the Nile riverfront in beautiful Aswan, walkable to the bazaar and a few restaurants. Great view of river and boats from room. Nice convenient breakfast. Quick laundry service.
Nile river side, independent lodge type room, pool, restaurant, are standardly nice as a resort hotel. however the price shown at the booking com was not fair.
