Old hanzeatic city, with beautiful old town (on Unesco list) but also charming port. Good for visiting churches, viewpoints on towers, walking along the streets with gothic and renaissance houses, but also for having a bread with a fish straight from the boat (Or to try local speciality - labskaus). We regret we didn't have enought time to visit oceanarium...

It's one of the lesser attractive hanseatic cities but they always try to offer more. If you go there, expect little. I would recommend to visit Stralsund for slow travelling. One or two relaxing days are enough to enjoy the city and your life. This is what Stralsund is giving. Most activities, restaurants and visitors are in the old town. You can take every public transport quickly to get down town. The biggest tip is the Ozeanum which has its own bus station.

Stralsund is a really pretty City with a port, an old city centre, many museums, a clean big beach and a direct connection to the pretty isle of Rügen which you can visit by train, bicycle, car or you could even walk there over the impressive Rügen bridge.VirginieGermany

We had a nice room for a couple, the beds very comfy and cosy, the room was clean but not very modern anymore. The bathroom had definitely seen better times, but for a weekend stay it was perfectly okay. The breakfast was a buffet-style with a huge variety of meat and sausages, a bit of cheese, jams, yoghurt and some fruits. Coffee was tasty. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The bathroom has a spacious and clean shower. Note the bathroom door does not have a lock! Breakfast is a buffet with a generous selection of foods, including vegetarian options. Coffee was alright. The soundproof walls plus the room having a courtyard view made it a very quiet room. The shower was fairly large, larger than most in our European travels. We appreciated that the room had a small refrigerator, kettle for heating water, hair dryer, and free wi-fi. If an elevator is needed, there is one. Since only very few peopled stayed at the hotel we had our own private buffet at the table and it was really great. In the evening we ate fish in the restaurant and you could tell that ist was fresh and no frozen stuff. It was excellent Oh and don’t miss the salt grotto, it’s so relaxing. My husband fell asleep
