Parking outside and lovely helpful staff, we arrived early so went in the bar and as soon as our room was ready we were allowed in (still early). Great breakfast which was replenished regularly. We didn't bother with the pool/spa but we were given all the information about it. We will definitely stay there again.

Pretty much everything. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Having arrived at 11.30am, we were able to drop off our rucksacks and then to check in a little early. The hotel is small, has 18 rooms, and has a funky style themed around chocolate. Our room wasn't huge but it was well equipped, comfy bed, beautiful bedlinen, good shower, tea and coffee making facilities and a big fridge.
Breakfast was exceptional. Served to us and with an eat as much as you want offer. A good range of fruit, breads, pastries, bacon, eggs, cold meats and cheeses. There's also a free welcome drink of your choice and free entry into the chocolate museum, which is interesting. You even get to make a chocolate bar!

Gorgeous city by the sea.
Gorgeous city by the sea. Beautiful blend of the old and the new, from a bridge designed by Gustave Eiffel to a modern shopping plaza in the centre of town near the main train station. A definite Parisian feel with lots of colorful sidewalk cafes and shops along clean, tree lined streets. I highly recommend making this a stop on your tour of Northern Portugal.

Viano do Castelo has a nice maritime feel to it with nearby beaches, historic old city center, many good restaurants, and sits below the amazing Santa Luzia Cathedral. One must visit the Cathedral and if daring go up to the top of the Cathedral (mix of elevator and then steps) for the best 360 degree views of the region, ocean and land.

I loved everything about Viana do Castelo.
I loved everything about Viana do Castelo. It was New Year's Eve and the atmosphere was incredible. Definitely one of the best nights of my life! The people, the decorations, the lights and although a lot of fun was being had, it just felt so safe and welcoming!
The next morning the streets were spotless, everyone wishing you a Happy New Year and it was all in all just perfect. I'll definitely be coming back. In fact I'd love to live there!

Lovely town to stroll around with lots of interesting buildings/architecture, nice boutiques and specialist shops and a good mix of places to eat. If we had stayed longer it would have been worth having a car but for 4 nights it was fine without. (Hotel has a car park)

Horacio is an excellent host, looking after his guest's needs with careful attention from arrival to departure. He arranged for a delicious meal to be delivered from a nearby restaurant and had local wine on hand to complement the food. Not only did he answer all our questions about life in Portugal and gave us recommendations about the best local paths for our Camino Portuguese, but he even drove my companion to the next evening's destination, saving us from an expensive taxi ride.
The room is a lot more spacious than I thought from the pictures, with a table that you can move outside to have your breakfast outside - which is absolutely amazing. We loved the breakfast selection offered, and were always so full in the mornings we could barely walk!
The pool was super peaceful and we loved how easily we could get to Viana do Castelo, since the main access to the city centre is very close - 5 minutes by car to get to the centre.
I arrived after a very long day walking the Camino and walking into the lobby was exactly what I needed. Friendly staff greeting me, well appointed lobby, and a welcome drink, which I didn't want but they brought me a glass of water. My room was exactly as pictured and very comfortable. I used the jacuzzi twice and the rain shower next to it was so soothing. Breakfast was one of the best yet during my stay in Portugal. Great location.
The view of the hotel is amazing! From the bar or restaurant, or from our room we could see the town below and some of the stunning beaches that you find in the area. The terrace in front of the hotel is fantastic and a great place to spend some time on a sunny day. The staff are extremely attentive and well informed. On one of the evenings we ate in the hotel restaurant and it really was very good indeed.
The studio was very clean and well laid out. The wifi was strong and the bed was very comfortable. Best of all is the location, looking out on the lovely old main square of beautiful Viana do Castelo yet very quiet at night. The contact in the shop downstairs was friendly and helpful. The free parking a short walk away by the harbour is great too. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Do not walk, but run to book this place!! It was a beautiful mix of boutique hotel and feeling like you were staying in the comfort of someone’s home. The owners were so kind, patient, and helpful. The place was immaculate! I wish I could’ve stayed here longer! This is easily accessible on one of the Camino routes.
Very attentive staff who is very passionate about his job and the premises. So helpful and took the time to show me around the entire hotel giving me the story of the hotel, decor and art work along the way. The breakfast was very carefully and lovingly prepared and served. A very special place to stay.
Wonderfully renovated historic property…only 20 rooms. Ours was spacious and included a bathtub.
The concierge is helpful with directions and the hotel is only 15 meters from the train station so very convenient. They serve an extensive breakfast buffet for guests which we enjoyed
Hotel very clean. Staff friendly & welcoming. Accommodation v clean. Option of swimming pool which I did not use. This hotel was perfect for us on the camino. It felt like a bit of luxury after a long day's walking. Pleasant facilities & bar downstairs.
Perfect location just by the main street in Viana do Castelo. Lots of restaurants in the nearby and a supermarket across the street. The apartment had everything you may need and was very comfortable. It had a cute little balcony.
Alex is a very helpful, obliging and informative host. He has useful local knowledge that he is happy to share. I had very interesting chats with him about the local area, Portugal and the world.
The space is very nice, and the location can't be beat. I really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast - great way for two pilgrims to start their day of trekking through Portugal!
Very modern hotel right in the centre of Viana do Castelo and just a two minute walk from the train station. The room was spotless and plenty of hot water for the shower.
Very nice receptionist, told us quite a bit about the hotel and the town. The hotel is in a historic building and you can really feel it. Its wonderful
