I was only staying in Bergen as I wanted to be close to Alkmaar where I travelled to from the hotel. The buses were very clean and nice to travel on but unfortunately they did not run at the scheduled times, I found i had longer waits than anticipated.DavidUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

Bergen has a nice atmosphere, a great selection of restaurants and a few pleasant shops too - far more than you would expect from a modest sized village. It's a short cycle ride to the beach and an even shorter ride to Alkmaar so it makes a perfect base for exploring this part of North Holland.

The staff were very nice and the breakfast was great too. The bed was very comfortable and I slept very well in it considering it wasn’t very long and my feet were hanging out.
